The non-profit Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) in collaboration with the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC), undertook the first-ever nationwide energy survey in India to characterize the energy use of hospitals. The main objective of this project was to develop and update energy benchmarks, codes, and standards for different hospital typologies in India.

The survey was facilitated by IDSPL across India through online and on-site modes. It was conducted across 18 states and union territories of India and included both public and private hospitals within this survey. We surveyed more than 50 hospitals in total across the region including both public and private hospitals with ensuring the quality of the required data points.
